The Role of Towels in Your Short-Term Rental
Towels are more than just functional items in your rental space; they can significantly impact your guests' perception of the quality of their stay. Imagine the delight on your guests' faces when they step into your meticulously prepared rental and are greeted by plush, soft towels neatly arranged in the bathroom. It's the small touches like these that leave a lasting impression.
Choosing the Right Towels
When selecting towels for your short-term rental, quality should be your top priority but don't forget to match the towels with the nightly price of your rental. What do I mean by that? If you have a $99 per night rental, do not break the bank on high end towels. If you have a $500+ per night rental, absolutely provide higher end towels.
These are a great budget friendly towel option. This is a set of bath towels including two bath towels, two hand towels, and four washcloths. The towels are made from 100% cotton and come in brilliant white. Customers like the softness, absorbency, and quality of the towels. Overall, the towel set is a good value for the money.
Towels by the Numbers
How many towels should I put out in my short term rental? This is probably one of the biggest questions I get asked and many are surprised by the answer. We generally put out 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel and 1-2 washcloths per guest with a minimum of 2 bath towels in the each bathroom. Why? BECAUSE THEY WILL USE EVERY TOWEL YOU PUT OUT! :) The higher the number of guests, the more cognizant you need to be about your towel numbers. For example, you have a party of 10 coming with 3 bathrooms. We would have10 bath towels, 10 hand towels and 10 washcloths available. Now, let's say that you are hosting 3 guests with 2 bathrooms. We would leave 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 wash clothes in the master and 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths in the 2nd bathroom. You don't want to appear too stingy with smaller guest numbers. On the other hand, if you leave 4 bath towels under each sink, which is the most common number most people leave out for smaller guest numbers, then you will be washing double the amount of towels as necessary at checkout. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal now, but if you have 5 or 6 turns in a day, that extra hour your are spending washing towels becomes a very big deal!
Towels as a Design Element
Beyond their practicality, towels can also contribute to the overall aesthetic of your rental space. Consider selecting towels in colors and patterns that complement your décor theme. Whether you opt for crisp white towels for a classic look or colorful accents for a touch of vibrancy, integrating towels into your design scheme can enhance the visual appeal of your rental.
If you'd like to add a design element and do colored towels, I really like this light gray option in the same budget friendly option as above.
Dark Makeup Washcloths
We have added dark washcloths to all the bathrooms (just a few in each bathroom) to encourage guests to use the dark towels to remove makeup. We used to only leave out white washcloths but quickly learned that we were throwing away (or rather turning them into cleaning rags) a large portion of our washcloths due to makeup stains. Having dark washcloths available could save you money down the road!
Customer Favorite: Luxury Cotton Washcloths are a customer favorite. With over 19,000 positive reviews, they have earned the title of White Classic's best-selling and award-winning product.
